My Story

My name is Adriana, and my life has always been a journey — one guided by intentionality, faith, and connection. I was born in Brazil in the early 80s, a time when childhood meant more freedom — ringing the neighbor's doorbell (to run away or stay for coffee), playing with my cousins and brothers, talking to strangers on the street, or simply getting lost in my own thoughts.

My very first memory already reveals something essential about who I am: intentionality. I was around four, running across the playground to kiss the forehead of a boy in my kindergarten. I remember thinking, 'I should never forget this moment.' That decision — to hold on to what matters — has followed me ever since.

My parents' work introduced me to many worlds: from the simplicity of the favelas to the elegance of boardrooms, from laughter to grief, from health to sickness. Those experiences taught me to see dignity and wisdom in every human story. My mom used to say, 'Trust is your most important asset — take care of it.' That became one of my earliest values and still anchors everything I do today.

Over time, I came to see that life is not about knowing, but about learning — again and again. I don't have all the answers, and I'm still learning how to manage my emotions, how to listen deeply, and how to walk through uncertainty with grace. I am grateful for the people, family, and communities that have shaped me, reminding me that growth is rarely linear — and that the beauty of the journey lies in walking it together.

My Essence — The Heart of Who I Am

I am now a wife and a mother of two daughters who teach me every day about patience, creativity, and love. Our family life in Switzerland is a blend of cultures, languages, and traditions — a mix of Brazilian warmth, Swiss rhythm, and global openness. At home, we often switch between three languages, sometimes all in the same sentence.

My husband and I share a vision of growing old together with open hearts — learning from one another and celebrating the gift of everyday life. Our home is filled with laughter, connection, and conversations about how things work, emotions, faith, and meaning.

Over the years, I've lived on five continents and built friendships across cultures, beliefs, and ways of life. Diversity has never been just something I observe — it's the air I breathe. My closest friends come from different corners of the world, and our conversations often stretch across languages, faiths, and perspectives. I love welcoming people as they are — without judgment — and meeting them where they are in their journey. I've learned that when we listen deeply to one another's stories, we all grow wider inside.

Being part of multiple communities — local, global, coaching, and faith-based — keeps me grounded. It reminds me that growth happens in connection, that we rise and become through others. I believe that in a world increasingly shaped by technology and AI, human connection matters more than ever. When we accompany, listen, and hold space for one another, we grow further than we ever could alone.

My journey is not a story of knowing; it's a story of learning, unlearning, and becoming — again and again. Over time, these personal roots — family, faith, connection, and diversity — grew into something larger. What began as a way of living with intention slowly became a calling: to accompany others in their own growth, just as I have been accompanied in mine. That is how JourneysLand came to life.

The Journey of JourneysLand

In 2017, the idea of JourneysLand began to take form, shortly after I completed my coaching certification. At the time, I had the opportunity to apply everything I'd learned by developing leadership programs that helped students and researchers grow — not only professionally, but as human beings. I loved this work. Accompanying students and early-career researchers was fascinating. Yet I felt a quiet whisper inside me — a vision of something more personal, more spacious, something that could reach beyond academia.

That's when I envisioned JourneysLand — a space for reflection, emotion, and transformation. A place where people could pause from the noise of life, reconnect with themselves, and take their next step with intention. Not alone, but together.

My entrepreneurial work led me to many interesting people, and when I joined BetterUp, the world's largest coaching platform, a few years later, I stepped into the world of coaching for business leaders. In the past three years, I've coached hundreds of professionals across industries and continents, gaining a deeper understanding of how leadership, emotions, and humanity intersect.

It's been fascinating to see that the core human challenges — courage, belonging, fear, and purpose — are the same whether you're a student starting your path or an executive leading thousands. My work at BetterUp has taught me that growth and transformation are universal — and that, at every level, we all long to live and lead with authenticity and meaning.

Through both my academic and corporate experiences, I've learned that coaching is never a solo act. It's a shared process built on trust, presence, and companionship — walking together while believing in the other's capacity to grow.

Now, after years of walking alongside others in transformation, I feel it's time to expand this vision — to grow JourneysLand with renewed purpose, for both individuals and organizations. This next chapter is about weaving everything I've learned into a shared journey — one where people can explore who they are, what they value, and how they wish to show up — at work, in relationships, and in life. It's also about giving back — sharing the care, wisdom, and generosity I've received throughout my life with those who seek to grow intentionally.

Why JourneysLand — The Heart of My Work

I chose the name JourneysLand because I see life as a journey — one that unfolds moment by moment. We are constantly evolving, learning, and discovering new ways to live with intention. We might not know the final destination, but we can always choose our next step.

JourneysLand is not just a name; it's a philosophy. It's a reminder that growth happens when we pause, listen, and reconnect with what truly matters. It's an invitation to explore life's path — not alone, but accompanied.

Through my work, I aim to create spaces where people can find clarity, compassion, and courage — spaces where they can understand their emotions, align their actions with their values, and reconnect with their sense of purpose.

Whether it's an individual seeking direction, a leader navigating complexity, or an organization cultivating intentional culture — my role is to walk beside them, helping them see what's possible.

The essence of JourneysLand is simple yet profound: Live intentionally. Discover new possibilities. Because every journey begins with intention — and every step, no matter how small, has the power to transform.

A Final Note

One thing I know for sure: life has a gentle rhythm — of learning, unlearning, and becoming. Wherever you are on your path, know that growth begins the moment you pause to listen — and that you don't have to walk it alone.
